How Solar Works

Solar Panels (Modules) convert the Sunlight into DC Electricity. This DC Electricity then travels down to the inverter. The inverter converts the DC Electricity into AC Electricity which is then connected to your switchboard. The power will be used by all your appliances. Excess electricity that is unused flows back through the ETSA supplied Import / Export meter.

This exported electricity currently will be credited on your power bill at the same price that you would purchase it for. As of July 2008, for SA customers the power will be credited at up to double the purchase price thanks to the new State Government Initiative.
