The future of the $8,000 federal rebate is not looking promising with the federal governments Climate Change Minister Penny Wong refusing to guarantee the rebate has a future.The rebate may not be avaliable in 3 months time........

As of July this year in South Australia a net feed in scheme was introduced. This means excess power that your solar panel system exports will be credited at 44 cents. Some retailers are choosing to top this up by up to 20 cents.

The Federal Labour Government will not review its decision to means test for the solar panel rebate says Treasurer Wayne Swan .

Following the Federal Government Budget there have been changes to the PVRP. It is now called the Solar Homes and Community Plan.
The rebate has now been capped by the ALP at 6000 homes per annum nationally and it will also be means tested.
The household must have a gross taxible income of no more than $100,000 per annum in the most recent tax year prior to the application.--------------------------------------------------------------------

Following the 2007 Election the ALP are now in power and there are some
slight changes to the PVRP Scheme.
$8000 rebate for Solar PV capped at 3000 households per year for five years.
$20,000 for every school in Australia to install Solar PV plus a further $30,000 open to PV as well as other energy efficiency measures.
Low interest HECS-style loans scheme up to $10,000 per household
Commitment to develop consistent national approach to feed-in tariffs.

The 61 Villas at South Shores have finally been finished.
Each Villa is "Sporting" a Thin Film Mitsubishi Grid Connected Solar Panel System with SMA Inverter.

It was recently announced that there is now a $1000 federal Government Rebate on Solar Hot Water!!!
Ad this to the $700 State rebate and you now have a total of $1700 in Rebates,

Changes to the Rebate Program

It has just been announced that the Federal Photovoltaic Rebate Programme which previously was administered by each States own department will now be administered by the Department of the Environment and Water Resources / Australian Greenhouse Office in Canberra. This should bring all of the states in line with each other under one administrative body.

Peter Costello Stated in his 2007 Budget Speech.
"We want to encorage homeowners to install solar panels across Australia. The current rebates will be doubled so that house holds will receive up to $8000 for installing an average system, which costs around $14000 a rebate of over 50%.
Grants of up to $12000 will be avaliable for solar panels in schools and community buildings."

Have you heard the latest announcement from the South Australian Government regarding the higher purchase price for Green Units of Electricity exported from Grid Connected PV Solar Systems.
At present, customers who sell electricity back to the power companies when they produce excess power, sell that power for the same price as they buy it. This inititive looks to increase this to 1 sold unit being worth up to 2 bought units. Now thats handy!

Solar SA's new website is finally up and running.
South Shores Development

South Shores Development outside Normanville South Australia is streaming ahead. In total 61 Homes will be fitted with solar. All systems are comprised of Mitsubishi Thin Film Modules and SMA Sunny Boy inverters.
To date 17 villa's are now producing their own power, with more being commissioned each month.
